My Real Life Jack-O-Lantern

I went with Shelby's class today to the Pumpkin Patch in Parogonah. Each student got to pick a pumpkin to take back to the school to decorate. When Shelby asked if I wanted one, I told her, "No, I already have a jack-o-lantern." She's so cute without her teeth. It seems like just yesterday, she was a year old and I was dressing her up as a pumpkin for halloween. Now, she's going on field trips.

A funny side note about the missing teeth. Since she has lost her teeth, she talks with a lisp and mispronounces a lot of her words. I was reading her school journal today. Her teachers have taught her to write the words that she doesn't know how to spell phonetically. So, as I was reading it, I noticed that all of the words are written with a lisp or missing sounds because she's writing them as they sound when she says them out loud!! haha Gotta Love it!
