This blog is mainly for Charon. She's gotten into the whole coupon thing and is always blogging about her great deals. Now I think I've talked about my disdain for coupons before. I'm sorry, but in the world according to Jana, cutting little pieces of paper out and tailoring your "shopping experience" to what's pictured on those stupid pieces of paper is just one step up from the free cheese line. I SWORE I'd never be one of those "Crazy Coupon Cutter Outer Ladies". Yea well, guess what.... times are tough and while we're nowhere near the cheese line, I'm all for saving a buck or two. Seems like everyone I know is into coupons lately and since we've already established that I 1)am a follower and 2) love me a good deal, I thought "what the heck".
Soooooo I took my sales ads to work last night, registered my Smith's Fresh Values Card (ya'll I've had that stupid thing since I got married and I've never registered the darn thing!) and discovered that you can do DIGITAL COUPONS! They load them right onto your Smith's card!! Now, that's customer service right there! HA! I also registered with a couple websites to get free printable coupons (yes I actually took the time to cut those out!)
**TIP** One time, someone (I'm 99.9% sure it was Andrea) registered my email address for every fricken "SPECIAL OFFER" known to man as a joke. It took me forever to "UNSUBSCRIBE" to all those stupid things! So I suggest that you create a "coupon email address" if you're going to register with these sites so that your regular email isn't being flooded with all kinds of offers.... especially if you get email notifications sent to your cell phone like I do!
Anyhow....I went to Smith's this morning (we only have 3 grocery stores in town including Wal-Mart) Here's what I got:
1-12 Double Roll Charmin; 1-8Roll Bounty paper towels; 10 Totinos Pizzas; 2 Green Giant frozen veggies; 4 Chex Mix; 2 Gogurts; 2 Pillsbury Toaster Struedels; 2 Oscar Meyer Lunchmeats; 1 Fruit by the Foot; 1Fruit Roll Up; 1 Nature Valley Granola Bars; 2 Progressive Soups; 1 Tropicana OJ; 4 boxes Cereal; 1 Cascade Dishwasher Tabs; 1 Venus Razor; 1Secret Deodorant; 1 Gillette Deodorant; 1 Old Spice Body Wash; 1 Crest toothpaste and 2 Dove candy bars
I ONLY bought items that 1) were on sale 2) I had a coupon for and 3) we will actually use. (One thing my mama taught me was "It's not a bargain if you're not gonna use it!) I spent $67.05 for a savings of $47.13!!!!!! Now, I will admit that I am just too darn much like my Granny to pass up that kind of savings!!!! (If you know her, you know she can stretch a penny a mile!)
I have a friend that is constantly telling me to "Try it once. If you like it try it again." Ok so I tried it and Heaven help me, I liked it! So, I'll DEFINITELY be trying it again!!!

now would i really do something like that? okay, i did.... but it was really funny at the time.
