Last week was "Family Week" at our school. On Tuesday we had MUFFINS FOR MOMS. The kids got to bring their moms in before school to have muffins and reading time together. We had about 60 moms show up, and to be honest we (the PTA) were a little worried about how successful the whole Family Week thing was going to be)
On Thursday, the PTA passed out SUCKERS FOR SIBLINGS. Each student got a tootsie pop with a little saying attached to give to EACH of their siblings (yea, I'm sooooo glad I'm not in charge of that again next year! Let's just say that our students had almost 1400 siblings.. that's a lot of stinkin' suckers!) The kids were pretty stoked about the suckers though!
Friday was DONUTS FOR DADS We had a HUGE turnout for this! We went through 400 donuts in about 30 minutes! The kids got to have their donuts and then the dads wrote little notes to the kids and had us deliver them during school. It was so cute to watch the kids. I swear MOM can be at the school every day and the kids really don't care, but let DADDY walk through those school doors; the kids FREAK OUT! My little ones chose to eat their muffins with their teachers instead of me on Muffins for Moms, but they were all about Daddy on Friday. HA! (I actually LOVE IT!)
